Salutations.
I grew up on The Simpsons, as most of us did, and I have to say that I've enjoyed many an episode that featured them. Bart started out as the "star" of the show, but then Homer seems to have taken over that spotlight as time went on. Marge was quite the mother, and with an interesting hairstyle, while Maggie was the cutie with adventures of her own accord.
Lisa, however, was often my favorite. We seemed to share the same views, like the same things, and were both very smart at very young ages
If you're wondering why I keep saying "was," it's because I do realize that a lot has changed since those early days of the series.
I usually get very much into a good T.V. series to where, if it's appealing enough, I try to find out all of the information on the characters, canon, and creativity as I can. For The Simpsons, that meant gathering various details on histories for a better understanding of things. Having been on the air for over 20 years, however, the show itself has re-formatted its own canon numerous times to where things stopped making some sort of sense.
Granted, a series that goes on for this long will definitely be "worn down" eventually (especially when the characters don't age and the story has to be compensated for it), but some things about it was still a little "exhausting" in trying to keep up.
In the case of Lisa, I still like her, but I also feel that she's definitely changed since her earlier incarnation...but I guess it's also a matter of how, as we see her live in that town, we also feel for her in that she needs to escape.
Heheh, I apologize if I'm making little sense in all of this. Overall, I like Lisa Simpson. I feel that a fan is one who accepts anything without question; I see myself as an appreciator, one able to see the good AND the bad and still have acceptance of someone or something.
^_^
If anyone has any questions, or would like for me to get more specific, just let me know. I thank you for taking the time in reading my thoughts.
